Today was pretty crazy again! I am not sure how well I am going to do by myself with all 5 kdis!! But Mom always said "you can do anything" so i am going for it!
Today we decided that we needed groceries, that pb&j would just not do it for another day! So we thought it would be a good idea to tell the kids that we would go to the park after we went to the store if they were good.
So we went in two cars -since we all dont fit in either minivan all together- to the store. With two shopping carts one with the stupid car on the front that is impossible to maneuver and another regular one, we started our adventure through Rainbow foods, for those of you who dont live in the Twin-Cities area Rainbow foods, is the local grocery store.
We did ok - if ok means we didnt totally lose it - until the end when Maddi had just been told "no" one too many times and started screaming. We were in the check-out lane so we just decided just to get out as fast as we could. We did pretty good budget wise and made it to the van(S) loaded them up and realized we forgot to get snacks for the park, since it was almost lunch time we needed to have something for them to eat at the park, so I ran back in to grab some "hold'em overers"! I grabbed the first box of appropriate snacks I found and got back to the lanes which of course by now were long and moving slow. In true grocery store form a male cashier was on break in line behind me with his lunch. Another male cashier was walking through the line and commented to cashier 1, " did you see those women with all those kids" cashier 1 replies, "yeah and one was screaming" cashier 2 says "yeah and she was the oldest of them!"
This was a pretty innocent conversation between 2 young men who have NO clue, however being as stressed out as I was, I felt the need to not let it go. I paid for my cheez-its and went back to the "cara-van-s" and told meghan what I had heard. She implied she was also insulted-so I did what anyone would do and dialed 411 to get the number for the store. When Terri answered I told her what I had heard and mentioned to her that this was not the first time that cashier 2 had been less then helpful. She assured me that this issue would be addressed!
Here I am 7 hours later trying to decide whether to feel:
A: frustrated because there are people in this economy that dont have jobs, and it just isnt fair that these two punks have one!!
B: bad for their future wives and kids
C: ridiculous for even being frustrated at all with something so simple and innocent
I guess in the scheme of things I am glad I took my frustrations out on some pimpled face i-podder then my own precious -never going to be like them - kids.
awe Libby, this is so you! And I bet you felt all of the above.....
